2D Woven Composites Homogenization tool

Dear All,

The tool for homogenization of 2D Woven composites is tested and working well my private model. It is currently hosted on my ngrok domain via my local machine.

It works by building a Textile model using Texgen with the following geometric parameters :

  1. Yarn Width
  2. Yarn Spacing
  3. Yarn Thickness

Later this geometric data is used to define the swiftcomp input file for homogenization.

Currently the following material types are supported for yarn and matrix - Isotropic, Transversely-isotropic and Orthotropic.

The prompt can be something like :

I want to calculate the effective stiffness of a 2D twill weave composite. The yarn spacing is 1 mm, the yarn width is 0.45 mm, and the yarn thickness is 0.55 mm. Both the yarn and matrix are isotropic. The yarn has E = 70 GPa and ν = 0.25, and the matrix has E = 4 GPa and ν = 0.35.

Request @Admin to integrate it to the main model so that it can be tested by others.

Thanks !

@Avinash I integrated it to the public model. One should be able to test it using CompositesAI.
